Turkey season opened today in Indiana. Normally I’ve got a bird by now by hunting Kentucky or Ohio but with the new house comes chores to take care of, especially when you are home as little as we are.
It was pouring down rain this morning but that didn’t stop us. I decided to hunt from a blind to stay somewhat dry. I had scouted a good pinch area the turkeys were using and set up a Flambeau Feather Flex decoy. It worked as the picture below demonstrates.
The bird had 28mm spurs, 11 inch beard and weighed 25 pounds.
